I greatly appreciate this take!! I have friends who I don’t feel I can trust because of the level and caliber of their gossip, but I think I have to take it a step further and consider why they feel safe gossiping to that degree with me. It feels mean spirited and I am definitely guilty of participating too far.

I had a friend group blow up because of gossip and while everyone stepped up and took accountability. No one was left unscathed and that dynamic has never been the same. I’ve just now accepted that it’s changed forever but I’m not sad about it anymore. It just is the case and I just learnt a really hard and good lesson about integrity and intention when running my mouth. Love this substack!!
